Privacy & Safeguarding
Draft notice — legal, safeguarding and content review required before launch. MTBcrowd does not claim certified compliance.
Private learning
Account information, rider names, age bands, riding preferences and knowledge-assessment records are saved privately. Under-13 riders need an adult guardian account. No public child profiles, messaging, live locations or public ride histories are offered.
Learning is not certification
Sample lessons are unreviewed. Quizzes record knowledge, not physical riding competence. Coach-led topics need in-person qualified guidance; an adult’s acknowledgement in the app is not a professional qualification.
Existing device data
Existing bike and riding records remain on your device. Linking a device shares its records with the parent who created the code. Private academy learning is separate; nothing is silently imported into a new rider profile.
Before public launch
- Confirm the data controller, contact details, retention periods and lawful bases.
- Review UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act and ICO Children’s Code with qualified advisers.
- Review guardian verification and minor consent procedures; self-declaration is not identity verification.
- Complete export, account deletion and safeguarding reporting processes.
- Obtain qualified cycling review for lessons, mechanical advice and media.
You can remove private rider profiles and their academy records from My Profile. Full account export/deletion and reporting are part of the next safeguarding stage.
